Adrian Schindler (1989, FR/DE)
Currently in residency at Matadero Madrid Centre for Contemporary Creation

I hold a MA from the postgraduate programme Art in Context at the Universität der Künste Berlin (2015), a MFA from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (2012) and studied performance at the Columbia College and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2011). Since 2017, I have taken part in the Research Platform and Doctoral Practice in Arts, a roaming group of art researchers hosted by different institutions in Geneva (MAMCO, Société des Arts de Genève, Musée Ariana).

I have exhibited at MACBA, Barcelona (2021), The Green Parrot, Barcelona (2021), El Born CCM, Barcelona (2019), La Grande Halle de La Villette, Paris (2018), La Capella, Barcelona (2017), Can Felipa, Barcelona (2017), Studiolo, Berlin (2015), Salon Mutlu, Berlin (2014) or Analix Forever Gallery, Paris (2013). Performances, screenings and public events have taken place at Cineteca, Madrid (2022), Empathy&Risk, London (2022), Espositivo, Madrid (2021), FID Marseille (2021), Fabra i Coats Centre d'art contemporani, Barcelona (2021), Centre d'art Le Lait, Albi (2020), Collège des Bernardins, Paris (2019), Mahal Art Space, Tangier (2019), One Gee In Fog, Geneva (2019), La Comédie, Reims (2018), FRAC Champagne-Ardenne (2017), Le Centquatre, Paris (2016) and Ludwig Forum, Aachen (2014). I have been resident at Casa de Velázquez, Madrid (2020-21 and 2019) Château Nour, Brussels (2020), Superdeals, Brussels (2018), L'Estruch, Sabadell (2018), Le Centquatre, Paris (2014-15), ZK/U, Berlin (2012-13). In 2017, I published the book "Itineraries and Detours of a Migrating Monument" with the publishing house AKV Berlin, co-produced by the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne.

Various of these projects have involved actors, dancers, researchers and other visual artists like Ali el Aziz, Claire Chassot, Alba Sanmartí Masdeu, Salma Amzian, Núria Gómez Gabriel, iki yos piña narváez funes, Itzea Goikolea-Amiano, Romain Trinquand, Rosa Renom, Michael Beron, Sam Parfitt, Marina Fita and Carles Gilabert.

Since 2013, I have collaborated extensively with the artist Eulàlia Rovira. We had solo shows at Pradiauto, Madrid (2021), Homesession, Barcelona (2019), Musée de Bibracte, Saint-Léger-sur-Beuvray (2018), Espai Dos Sala Muncunill, Terrassa (2018_with Caterina Almirall), Fireplace, Barcelona (2016) and presented our work in group shows, performances and screenings in Arts Santa Monica, Barcelona (2020), Fabra i Coats Centre d'art contemporani, Barcelona (2019), etHALL, L'Hospitalet (2019), Zwitschermaschine, Berlin (2019), NoguerasBlanchard (storage space), L'Hospitalet (2019), Galerie Martin Janda, Vienna (2018), The Museum is Closed, MACBA, Barcelona (2017_with Maria Barros), àngelsbarcelona (2017), Centro Cultural Montehermoso, Vitoria (2017), Turf Projects, Croydon (2016), Kreuzberg Pavillon, Berlin (2014) among others. In 2018, we were recipients of the Fundació Güell Visual Arts Grant.
